Another devestated genration?

I can't help but think about the attitude my grandfather had towards his military decorations. He never came out and said it, he just let you know that nothing pinned to his chest or written about him in the paper would make up for the horror he endured or the friends he lost. It took him at least 25 years before he would talk about his war experience openly. Death is a known, understandable consequence of war. PTSD is becoming more well accepted and understood.

The opportunity cost is never given a thought. The lives of the men and women that are now devastated and may never live up to the potential due to death, PTSD or simply years lost to war.  The impact on the soldier's children. There was a photo essay at this site, but it seems to be down at the moment.

The war is still going on. American's are still dying. Others are coming home with less of themselves than they took into battle. Please don't forget.
